Dollar Find Friday Candle

Everyone is welcome and we love to meet new people :)

TGIF! Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to this week's edition of Dollar Find Friday with Kim :) I would really like to say that I have something fabulous in store for you today but with having the flu for the past week and then working an extra 4 hours longer that I was supposed to today, I just didn't have a chance to get to the dollar store. So, I decided to work with what I could scrounge up at home ;)

Today transformed a simple small pillar candle into something a little more fancy by using a couple supplies:

To make this candle all I did was cut out a die cut shape and use the negative for a mask. I then sponged some mustard ink using the negative to create the shape on some plain white tissue paper. I then stamped my flourish in black and trimmed around the image.

To adhere the tissue to the candle you simply place the image on the candle and cover it with wax paper. Heat the wax paper just a little bit with your heat tool and what that does is melt the wax on the wax paper to the candle and therefore sandwiching/sealing your image to the pillar.

To finish it off I glued some metal rose embellishments to the candle but shaped brads would work beautifully. This would make a lovely teacher appreciation present and is very economical at coming in with a big fat price tag of $1.00 :0)

Thanks so much for coming by today!
